I haven’t found a lot of resources for how to model real geometry plants in Maya, so I made this (ugly) tutorial in case it helps someone else.
I know low poly & bitmap based assets meet most people’s needs, but it’s nice to have the option for modeling geometry plants.

Sheet for lady fern and the final lineup of all three ferns together. In real life both the sensitive and lady ferns can grow to 3 feet in optimal conditions, but I wanted more height variety for the environment.
